The SATURDAY school was founded to combat the low attainment levels achieved by students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Established in 1999,
the school aims not only to address educational disadvantage but to also provide positive role models who contribute to the development of balanced adults who will be able to make a positive impact within their communities.

There are currently 100 students from primary and secondary school. The majority coming from low-income families and in some cases their first language is not English.
The school charges a nominal fee, which enables us to focus on helping the most disadvantaged members of the community.
-
There are around 20-30 volunteer teachers and a number of administrative volunteers.
The teachers come from a range of professions including media/marketing executives, bankers, consultants, scientists etc, as well as professional teachers. All DSB checked.
-
GSCE students at the school consistently produce excellent results.
A-level students have also performed impressively and managed to secure offers from Oxford University, LSE, Royal Holloway UCL, Imperial College, Queen Mary, Kings College and Brighton University.Additionally, the school is keen to focus on pastoral care and extra curricular activities, including careers program, poetry workshops, environmental workshops, activities run by the Science Museum and the V&A and many others.
The school also produces a newsletter every term showcasing and celebrating the achievements of both the students and the teachers.
At the end of the summer term, the school arranges numerous activities that show recognition for the hard work performed over the year.
Encouraging a community of altruistic individuals keen to give back to society is a desire of the school and as such students at CCSS have been involved in their own fundraising initiative to provide the running costs of schools in developing countries.

The waiting list of over 100 students is testament to the schools success but also provides a challenge in terms of meeting the demand for supplementary education. The school’s model has been replicated by a number of former teachers in various areas around London and each of the individual schools is a success story in its own right.
As the school continues to grow and evolve we are constantly looking for new teachers who share the ethos and enthusiasm for the school and its mission.
