Speaker: Iqbal Nasim
Ramadan is around the corner. In addition to being the month of fasting, it is also the time when most Muslims pay their Zakat. But Zakat can be a confusing topic. Who needs to pay it and to whom is it paid? How is it supposed to be calculated? More broadly, what is its place among the other pillars of Islam? And in what ways, if any, are the pillars coherent and synergistic?
Our final talk before the holy month of Ramadan seeks to unravel all these questions and shed light on a subject that is all too often misunderstood. This is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge and understanding of both the theory and practice of Zakat in a modern context.
There will be plenty of time for Q&A, so come with all your questions and, God willing, leave with answers!
