The City Circle is pleased to be partnering with Syria Solidarity UK to present a screening of the film documentary Syria's Disappeared. It tells the hidden story of the tens of thousands of men, women and children who have been "disappeared" in Syria since the beginning of the conflict in 2011. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director Sara Afshar, and former Syrian detainee and torture survivor Yaman Alqadri.
The evening will end with a beautiful musical performance by Sana Wahbaa on the Qanoon, a key instrument in Syrian music.
Our venue for the evening is St James's Church Piccadilly, which offers the opportunity to view Arabella Dorman's art installation Suspended, highlighting the plight of Syrian refugees.
This is a ticketed event so please book your tickets through Eventbrite. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Starfish Foundation and Syria Solidarity UK.
