The City Circle and St James's Church are delighted to invite you to our annual Interfaith Iftar at St James’s Church, Piccadilly on Sunday 27 May.
Now in its third year, the evening will once again unite people of all faiths and none in celebrating the values and spirituality of Ramadan while joining in the breaking of the fast as a community.
Our theme this year is Welcoming the Stranger. With ongoing conflicts around the world displacing millions of people, our diverse panel of speakers will explore the importance of faith-based communities in coming together to offer refuge and safety to the stranger. Our keynote speaker will be the well-known Shaykh Haytham Tamim, Founder of Utrujj Foundation.
After breaking the fast and evening prayers, we will have a delicious dinner together, with a choice of Sri Lankan biryanis, Moroccan tagines, Jamaican curries and more. All dishes will be halal, with vegetarian options and special dietary requirements catered for. Dates for the breaking of the fast have generously been donated by social enterprise Zaytoun. This will be a great chance to mingle with old friends and new.
We look forward to welcoming you at our Iftar.
